About Me
I am a social worker and therapist in the Johannesburg suburbs providing counseling to adults, children, and families. I have over 16 years experience working in the clinical social work space.
I provide a safe and judgement-free space for anyone struggling with difficult life circumstances, where you can safely explore what is holding you back from good mental health functioning.
Counseling is provided with the utmost level of care and professionalism, in strictest confidence.
I have a special interest in working with people going through divorce, as well as those for whom parenting is a challenge. I am a trained Divorce Mediator and can facilitate the drawing up of Parenting Plans as well as the Child’s Voice interview.
I am registered with the Board of Health Funders as well as the South African Council for Social Service Professionals.

I work from a client centred, non judgemental and nurturing approach, allowing you to explore what is holding you back from reaching your goals, whether they be in your relationships, or your work-life.

Divorce Mediation
Divorce is easily one of the most stressful life events, and there is no debate that it can create unexpected turmoil and disruption. The dissolution of a marriage is a time of change, confusion and transition. It is expected that numerous losses will be experienced while trying to adapt to the social, emotional, financial and psychological changes.
Here is where Divorce Mediation comes in. Divorce Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution whereby a couple who have decided to divorce will mediate the terms and conditions of the divorce with the help of a trained facilitator. Needless to say, this offers the possibility of a quicker, less painful and much less expensive experience than litigating a divorce through the courts. In effect, it is about working together, with professional guidance, to harmoniously end a marriage without the strife, conflict and toxicity that is emblematic of a litigated divorce.
I am a trained Divorce Mediator and invite you to contact me if you would like to learn more about Divorce Mediation.
Parenting Plans
A parenting plan is a structured plan for the care of children post divorce or separation of the parents. It is necessary for the finalisation of divorce in South Africa where minor children are involved. It is also strongly advised for parents who are splitting up even if they were never legally married.
A good parenting plan protects both parents and children. It will provide specific arrangements for the care of the children, as well as the contact they have with each parent. The parenting plan lists the responsibilities of the parents towards the child, both in terms of financial support as well as emotional and physical care, as well as schooling and religious upbringing.
Contact me if you would like to mediate a strong parenting plan in the best interests of your children.
Divorce Support Groups
I will be running online Divorce Support Groups in 2022 for people who are currently going through a divorce or who have been divorced or separated for up to 2 years.
The groups will focus on coming to terms with the loss of the marriage or relationship and moving on successfully while navigating the legal, financial, social and emotional challenges that accompany divorce.
The group will run for 6 to 8 sessions with no more than 8 participants. Each session will be interactive and make use of themes, educational material, role-playing, written exercises and open discussion.
The cost of the group can be claimed back from medical aid.
If you are interested in joining one of my Divorce Support Groups, please call or email to discuss!
